Matthew McEwinCPO
Certified by the American Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics
Matthew is a prosthetics and orthotics practitioner at Strive O&P. While attending the University of Central Oklahoma, where he completed his BS in Biomedical Engineering, Matthew became intrigued by the field of prosthetics while electing to take on a senior project involving biomechanics for amputees. His interest grew into a passion, and he volunteered and later worked as a technician and apprentice at a local prosthetic and orthotic facility where he grew up in Oklahoma City.
Following his dream led him to Chicago to complete the Orthotics and Prosthetics program at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Here, he met his wife and fellow practitioner, Melissa. As part of his residency program in Baltimore, Maryland, he was afforded the opportunity to attend the Johns Hopkins amputee clinic. Matthew lectured on orthotics and prosthetics for Johns Hopkins’ physicians pursuing physical medicine and rehabilitation specialties. He also provided orthotic solutions for a world-renown orthopedic surgeon specializing in Legg-Calve-Perthes disease at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics.
He has always enjoyed working with his hands, problem solving, and interacting with patients. Taking pride in keeping proficient on the newest technology, Matthew is always looking outside the box for new and innovative solutions to the problems his patients face to allow them to thrive in their ever-changing world.
Outside of work, Matthew can be found spending time outdoors in the beautiful state of Michigan with his wife Melissa, daughter Maddie, and their dog Chi.
